Barry Bentley is an Associate Lecturer in the Faculty of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics at the Open University.

He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Cambridge, where he worked in the Schafer lab at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology to map and analyse the neuromodulatory connectome of C. elegans.

Previous research includes work on the Orekit astrodynamics library, and a collaboration with the CRNS and the Advanced Concepts Team at the European Space Agency, exploring the application of evolutionary concepts to the design of neural control systems for planetary rovers.
